HOW LONG DOES FROZEN BREAST MILK TAKE TO THAW IN THE FRIDGE?
Usually 12 to 24 hours, depending on how many ounces are in the bag and how cold your fridge runs. Put it in the night before and it's typically ready by morning. Bigger bags may need a head start.
IS THAWING IN THE FRIDGE SAFE?
The CDC lists thawing overnight in the refrigerator as one recommended method, along with setting the bag in warm or lukewarm water. It also says never to thaw or heat breast milk in the microwave. See the CDC links above for full guidance.
HOW LONG IS THAWED BREAST MILK GOOD FOR?
Per CDC guidance, use it within 24 hours of being fully thawed in the fridge (counted from when it's completely thawed, not from when you took it out of the freezer). Once it's brought to room temperature or warmed, use it within 1 to 2 hours. Never refreeze thawed milk.
HOW DO I USE MYLK MATE™?
Stand your frozen bags in the slots, set it in the fridge overnight, then lift the bag out and pour it into a bottle in the morning.
CAN I THAW MORE THAN ONE BAG AT A TIME?
Yes. Each Mylk Mate™ holds up to three bags.
WILL IT FIT MY STORAGE BAGS?
It fits most standard bags, including Lansinoh, Medela, Motif, Momcozy, and up & up (Target brand).
WHAT HAPPENS IF A BAG LEAKS?
The leak-resistant tray catches it. Rinse the tray and you're done.
IS IT DISHWASHER SAFE?
Yes, top rack only.
